editorial team

Empowering Parents, Strengthening Communities

WorldEd Foundation is thrilled to announce an exciting collaboration with HAN University of Applied Sciences’ International Social Work students Julija Kugryte, Isabella Ursem, and Charlotte Doornekamp to launch the Parent-Led Mental Health Advocacy Training program. This initiative aims to equip parents with the knowledge and skills to recognize mental health issues, provide support, and advocate for accessible mental health services within their communities.

A Timely Initiative for Mental Health Awareness Month

Mental health remains a critical global concern, particularly in underserved communities where access to resources and awareness is limited. With Mental Health Awareness Month approaching in May, this training is both timely and essential in ensuring that parents—who are often the first point of contact for children and families—are empowered to take action.

The official launch date for the training is April 1st, 2025, providing coordinators with structured guidance on how to facilitate discussions, break stigma, and drive meaningful change.

Objective & Expected Impact

The Parent-Led Mental Health Advocacy Training is designed to:

  • Educate parents on recognizing early signs of mental health issues.

  • Equip community coordinators with practical skills to train and support parents.

  • Empower parents to become advocates for better mental health services.

  • Encourage a culture of open dialogue and support within communities.

By fostering parent-led advocacy, we anticipate a ripple effect—improving mental health literacy, reducing stigma, and creating long-term support networks within communities that often lack access to professional mental health services.

A Collective Effort Towards Change

WorldEd Foundation extends deep appreciation to all coordinators who have registered to take part in this groundbreaking initiative. Your dedication to uplifting and empowering your communities is invaluable.

We also express our sincere gratitude to Julija, Isabella, and Charlotte, HAN University, and the International Social Work Department for their dedication to social impact and commitment to making a difference. This partnership is a powerful example of how global collaborations can drive meaningful community change.

As we gear up for this transformative journey, we look forward to witnessing the impact of this initiative—one that uplifts, educates, and empowers.
